Database Administrator

Summary

The Consultant Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and monitoring of the firm’s database systems, and providing solutions to database problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, support, and troubleshoot Oracle RAC on Supercluster
  • Database server administration (creation, configuration, set-up, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting/problem resolution, performance tuning)
  • Application database support (database import/export, security, and performance tuning)
  • Documentation development (standards, procedures, and other technical documentation)
  • Monitor ongoing performance of Oracle databases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years overall experience with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in Oracle RAC, working directly with both database servers handling mission critical production environment
  • Experience working with Oracle 11g and 12c
  • Experience working with Supercluster a plus
  • Experience in the use of Oracle Data Guard, shell scripting in unix environment, PL/SQL, RMAN, Oracle
  • Grid Control, Oracle Diagnostics and Tuning Packs , performance tuning.
  • Exposure to SQL 2012 a plus
  • Experience with LVTS or DoubleTake a plus
  • Comfortable to resolve issues independently with a sense of urgency and confident in supporting a fastpace environment
  • Ability to develop effective internal/external working relationships
  • Exhibits self-confidence in one’s work, can be a problem solver as well as a team player
  • Available to support after hours and weekends as needed.
